Jay K. Johnson, D.O. – Board Certified Neurology and Neuroimaging
Dr. Johnson graduated with honors from Oklahoma State University College of Medicine in 1985. He was Director of Emergency Services for the Creek Nation Community Hospital until 1987 when he entered the Neurology residency program at the University of New Mexico where he was Chief Resident. He began his private practice in the summer of 1990.
Because the University of New Mexico is an M.D. residency program, Dr. Johnson is somewhat of a hybrid. He is board certified in Neurology by both the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology & Psychiatry and the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology (which is the allopathic or M.D. board). He is certified by the American Society of Neuroimaging to read MRIs and CTs.
He has been a frequent guest on local television and radio programs medical segments. He was honored as a 2005 inductee to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Volunteer Hall of Fame. He participates in numerous research studies and has been published in various academic journals.
